Due to the popularity of this type of Retro Arcade console and a certain countries tendency to copy and reproduce fakes at a cheaper price, the market has been flooded with cheaper, poor performing, below average physical build quality Pandora Box versions.
For the purpose of my normal customers, I’m talking about the 6-button, Joystick complete plug and play game consoles like what we sell here, not just the Computer PBX board which can be bought individually)
Essentially, the genuine product is made by 3A games and have produced the following versions of Pandora Boxes Arcade Consoles still relevant as I write this (19/08/2021).
Pandora Box 5 – 960
Pandora Box 6 – 1300 games
Pandora Box DX – 3000 games
Pandora Box DX – 5000 games
If you buy any other version such as Pandora Box 7, 7S, X, 9, 9S you’re basically buying a bootleg copy etc.
They’ll generally be advertised with some excessively large Games included and cost less than $200 from eBay. Don’t even bother with them. Many of the games have issues (bad rom copies) or the computer processor is too slow to play the more popular games like Mortal Kombat or NBA Jam. The console themselves are made with plastic and not metal like the genuine, overall, it’s like buying an Aldi TV vs a Samsung, save yourself the disappointment.
